Successful Projects

(i)Shelter, Water and Sanitation
The young widow got assistance from KICODEP. We managed to construct for her a reasonable shelter with iron sheet over her roof during the year 2008. quite a number of widows in Kituka village suffer a plight similar to that of this widow, with the village having been hard hit by the HIV epidemic, leaving only the young women who are ailing and coupled with the burden of caring for children without proper income. "Am happy and proud of what KICODEP has done in my life" thanks to the dedicated team at KICODEP .

KICODEP Shelter Water and Sanitation project intends to address the rights of shelter, water & sanitation right and will be a major mobilization strategic entry to the communities.

(ii)Agriculture
KICODEP believes that sustainable food production can be achieved in Nyatike despite its harsh climatic conditions. There is a big river traversing through Nyatike –River Kuja, (emanating from the Kenyan highlands ) into lake Victoria. We believe this resource can be tapped to irrigate farms. A friend of KICODEP recently donated a small petrol powered water pump for a pilot project and we have witnessed just what irrigation can bring to this starving community.
